Our biggest trouble as the dwellers of big cities is probably a frenzy over concrete structures. Commuting from home to work and vice-versa, sometimes we cannot go beyond what we call rush. Therefore, when we see a landscape photograph, we stare at it for a long time. I will briefly tell you about one of those landscapes: Bolu Yedigöller.
You already understand what awaits you as you are on your way to this beauty which is 3 hours away from both Istanbul and Ankara. You fall under Yedigöller region’s spell slowly. It is named after Büyükgöl, Deringöl, Seringöl, İncegöl, Nazlıgöl, Sazlıgöl and Kurugöl, which are 100 meters away from each other.
Büyükgöl, Yedigöller’s most precious, is used as a trout breeding place. Moreover, I would like to give you some interesting information. Our country’s first trout breeding station was established here in 1969.
One of the region’s most important characteristics is that it hosts many plant species. There are many trees such as beech, oak, alder, hornbeam, aspen, yellow pine, hazel tree, and linden trees. This situation points to a location for experts who conduct research on plants in our country.
Yedigöller’s another characteristic is over 100 species of birds it accommodates. There are not just birds. Bears, wolves, foxes, squirrels, wild ducks, rabbits, and deer are also part of this landscape. I have good news for those who ask “Huh, a deer?” Yedigöller features a deer breeding station. Those who desire can visit it.
The best time to visit Yedigöller is the period between April and November. You can see trees in every color, especially in May and October. It offers a complete riot of colors. On the other hand, Bolu-Yedigöller is covered with snow from December to March. That’s why I suggest that you go to the region through Yenikaga-Mengen route.
Now, as you read this article, you may just say these are just green trees. But what matters is that you can be a part of this landscape and even be involved in it. Therefore, you should act accordingly. I am writing for you a prescription of how you can find peace and be happy in Yedigöller. To begin with, you should go early in the morning. You should take your breakfast and recline next to a tree. You should brew your tea. Is it all? No. You should put up your tent and wait until the next day. You ask why? To wake up to the world with bird sounds..
