Who is Mustafa Şentop?
Faculty Member, Prof. Dr; He graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law. He did his master’s and doctorate in the field of Public Law at Marmara University.He started to work as a Research Assistant at Marmara University Faculty of Law in 1993. He became a doctor in 2002, associate professor in 2005, and professor in 2011. Apart from Marmara University, he taught undergraduate and graduate courses at many universities. He held various administrative positions at Marmara University. Writer, manager and editor in various journals since his student years; He worked as an editorial board member, editor and referee in academic journals. He served as the President of the Center for Economic and Social Research (ESAM) in Istanbul. He was elected as a member of AK Party MKYK at the 4th and 5th Ordinary Congresses and served as the Vice President between 2012-2015.He was elected as Istanbul Deputy in the 24th, 25th and 26th terms. He served as Deputy Chairman of the Constitutional Commission. In the 24th term, he took part in the Constitution Reconciliation Commission representing the AK Party. He served as the President of the Constitutional Committee in the 26th term. While he was acting as the Deputy Chairman of the Turkish Grand National Assembly in the 27th term, he was elected Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly on February 24, 2019.Having a good command of English and Arabic, Şentop is married and has 4 children.
