CHRISTOPHER RODRIGUES
Christopher was appointed Chairman of Openwork Group in January 2014. He is currently the Chairman of consumer lending business at International Personal Finance plc, and was previously President and Chief Executive of Visa International (2004-2006) and Group Chief Executive of Bradford and Bingley (1996-2004) when it was committed to providing face-to-face financial advice. Christopher led Bradford and Bingley’s IPO in 2000 and entry into the FTSE 100 index two years later.
Christopher Rodrigues also became Chairman of VisitBritain on 1 January 2007 and is pro-bono Chairman of Windsor Leadership and The Almeida Theatre. He is on the Council, and is a Trustee, of the National Trust and is an Executive Committee member of the World Travel and Tourism Council. In August 2013 he became the Chairman of the British Bobsleigh & Skeleton Association.
Prior to Bradford and Bingley, Christopher was Chief Operating Officer then Group Chief Executive of Thomas Cook (1988-1996). He has also held senior roles in organisations including American Express, where he spent nine years, and the FSA, where he was Non-Executive Director from 1997 to 2003.
Christopher holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and an MA in Economics & Economic History from Cambridge University.
