Ömer Acar joined Katara Hospitality office in France in June 2014 after having worked closely with Katara Hospitality in his previous post of three years as the General Manager of Le Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris, one of the world’s best luxury hotels. Under his stewardship, the next-generation palace garnered prominent accolades, including the official Palace rating in 2012 and a Michelin Star for each of its two restaurants in 2013. It was also voted ‘Best New Hotel 2012’ by Tatler Magazine, ‘Best Hotel Ambiance & Design 2012’ by Condé Nast Traveller Magazine and ‘Best Spa in the World 2012’ at the Virtuoso Awards.

Ömer Acar has over 17 years’ experience in the luxury hospitality industry. He started his career at the Halekulani Hotel in Hawaii (US) before joining the Four Seasons Hotel Group, where he held several senior management roles, first at the Four Seasons Hotel Hawaii (US), then at the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills (US) and Four Seasons Hotel Sharm el-Sheikh (Egypt). In 2005, he was appointed as Director of Catering for Harrods Holding Group in London which included Harrods London, Ritz Paris and Fulham Football club. Two years later, he became the General Manager at The Ritz, Paris and stayed in that role for over 5 years, before joining the Katara Hospitality family at Le Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris in 2011.

Ömer Acar is married with three children. Originally from Istanbul, Turkey, and fluent in Turkish, English and French and some basic German, He studied at the Hotel Institute Montreux , part of Swiss Hotel Education Group in Switzerland before moving to Hawaii to study at Hawaii Pacific University, Honolulu, where he gained a Bachelor’s degree in honors in Business Administration. Current board memberships include the George V Entertainment which has several brands such as Buddha Bar. He is also the President “Qadran”of a leading French – Qatari economical think tank.

Ömer Acar is currently asset managing the Katara Hospitality portfolio in Europe and the Hotels include Peninsula Paris, Royal Monceau Raffles Paris, Buddha Bar Hotel Paris, Intercontinental Carlton Cannes, Intercontinental Madrid, Intercontinental Amstel Amsterdam, Intercontinental Frankfurt, , Excelsior Rome, Hotel de la Ville Rome, Excelsior Galia Milan.
